- Academy of American Poets
- Offers an extensive "literary gallery" featuring poems
and recorded readings by well-known 20th-Century poets both living
and dead, accompanied by essays, biographies, bibliographies, and
photos.
- Alt-X Publishing Network
- Offers several collections of fiction, including one devoted to
"anti-censorship fiction" and another devoted to works of
hypertext. Also many essays and columns and an archive of audio programs
that are broadcast every week on the Web as streaming audio. The site's
director, Mark Amerika, is a proponent of the "Avant-Pop"
style. This is one of the most thriving Web sites for new writing.

- Electronic Poetry Center
- A multifaceted resource devoted to experimental poetry. Features
an Author Home Page Library containing work by and writings about
modern poets, including Amiri Baraka, Charles Bernstein, Robert Creeley,
Richard Kostelanetz, and Jerome Rothenberg. There is an archive of
audio files containing readings and recorded broadcasts of LINEbreak,
Charles Bernstein's radio series devoted to literary artists. The
site also hosts a magazine, a collaborative poem project, and other

- Extensive collection of on-line audio and video recordings
made from New York City poetry performances. Also live chat sessions.
- GRIST On-Line
- Provides a home for a wide variety of poetry publications, including
complete chapbooks and miscellaneous works of visual poetry. Hosts
sites for many literary magazines and several small presses. Emphasis
on experimental poetry.
- Internet Poetry
Archive
- An on-line anthology of selected works by well-known poets,
including Philip Levine, Czeslaw Milosz, Seamus Heaney, and Robert
Pinsky are included. Features both printed texts and audio recordings
of the poets' works.
- The
Language of Life
- A selection of poems from the PBS TV series hosted
by Bill Moyers. Work by Robert Bly, Carolyn Forché, Robert Hass, Gary
Snyder, Adrienne Rich, and many others.
- Light
and Dust Mobile Anthology of Poetry
- A large archive of mostly experimental poetry,
including visual poetry. There are complete books by Theodore Enslin,
Maureen Owen, and many others, some previously published in paper
and now out of print. Hosted by the GRIST On-Line site.
- Literature Online
- Chadwyck-Healeys huge searchable database of literature is
devoted mostly to public-domain material but includes the work of
over 100 20th-Century British poets and some contemporary American
poets. Subscriptions are aimed at libraries and range from about $900
to $20,000. The site also hosts a writer-in-residence
page that is accessible to the public for free.
- A Little Poetry
- Contemporary poetry from around the world, mostly by lesser-known
writers. Some work has been previously published. There are several
collections here, some grouped by themes such as "love"
or "humor," and a "Wondrous Wins" page displays
the most popular poems of the month, determined by visitor votes.
- The Multiple
Poetics Project
- A collection of collaborative writings, encouraging contributions
from readers. "Every page is a work-in-progress and will grow,
change, disappear with time."

(Australian Literature)
- This resource site for Australian literature includes a repository
of poetry and fiction by Australians.
- Poetry Cafe
- Collections of poetry. Readers have the option of browsing the collection
by author or of using the Poetry Reload feature to randomly display
a poem from the site.

- Each day this site features a poem selected from a printed book
or magazine. All selections are archived for a year. Features both
well-known and lesser-known poets. Most offerings have links to Amazon.com

- The Poetry Society of America and the MTA New York City Transit
sponsor the Poetry in Motion project, which puts poems on
posters in subway cars and buses. The Web site provides a
selection of these in graphical format, and even lets you e-mail them
to friends as "electronic postcards." Some contain recordings
of the poems being read. Features contemporary and Classic poems.

including some kinetic work.

- Offers selections from print publications by featured writers, including
